The Railway Inn is one of Honitons hidden gems located away from the High Street in Queen Street, in one of Honiton’s Historic Buildings.
In the early 19th Century at the height of the industrial revolution The Railway Inn was built as a drinking place for the railway workers building the railway line from Exeter to London. The building has retained its original status throughout its life, however its owners have had some colourful sidelines, as attachments to the pub have been - a Boxing club and workshops as well as a funeral directors.
Having been sympathetically refurbished in 2008 to retain those historic qualities, the present owners have also managed to update the facilities using muted colours to highlight features such as fireplaces and the lounge/bar area.
A warm and relaxed environment welcomes you, with the emphasis on good quality food and real ales. There is an outside seating area to the front with disabled access and facilities also available. 2013 also brings the new addition of en-suite Bed and Breakfast rooms.
