Honiton celebrates the MARKET 750TH ANNIVERSARY with Medieval Fayre and Pageant. 24-29 July 2007.Commemorating the granting of the MARKET CHARTER by HENRY 111 in 1257.

This historical event started with the traditional Hot Pennies Day - Tudor Dancers - Treasure Hunts and Games in Honiton Museum - Honiton Town Band - Honiton Players took us back in time with the Market Charter performance which had to take place in St Pauls Church at short notice due to the weather.Open Air Cinema - Street Entertainers and Medieval Events on the Saturday and Town Crier Competition hosted by the town crier Dave Retter.These are just a few of the photographs giving you the atmosphere of this 750th Celebrations of the MARKET CHARTER over the weeks events.
I wish to thank the "TOWN MAYOR VERNON WHITLOCK" and his wife. Deputy Mayor "Chriss Tratt" - "Councillor Sally Casson" - "Terry Farebrother" - "Dave Retter" the Staff Volunteers at the HONITON MUSEUM and the town's people whom have stopped me in Honiton High Street saying that this event has been marked and on view promoting HONITON DEVON.Where we are promoting local business as well as the TOWN MARKET
